Yes – everyone is welcome to attend our services and activities. Whether you’ve been to church before or not, you will be warmly welcomed.

No. Please come as you are, wearing whatever you feel comfortable in.

As a Baptist church, we do not baptise or christen infants.

However, we do offer Infant Dedication. This is a special time within a Sunday service where parents give thanks to God for their child and make a commitment to bring them up in a loving and Christian environment. The church also shares in that commitment by supporting the family.

Parents can include godparents if they wish, who take on a supportive role in the child’s life.

A Christian is someone who:

• Believes in Jesus Christ
• Has asked God for forgiveness
• Wants to follow Jesus as Lord of their life

It’s about a personal relationship with God, not just attending church or trying to be a good person.

Becoming a Christian means putting your trust in Jesus and choosing to follow Him.

In simple terms:

• Admit that you have done wrong and need God
• Believe that Jesus died and rose again for you
• Ask for forgiveness
• Decide to follow Him

Baptists practise believer’s baptism, which means baptism is for those who have made a personal decision to follow Jesus.

We baptise by full immersion in water. This symbolises a fresh start – leaving an old way of life behind and beginning a new life with God.

Baptism is an important step for Christians because:

• Jesus Himself was baptised
• It was practised by the early church
• It is a public declaration of faith

It is an outward sign of what has already happened inwardly.

Church membership is a way of committing to the life of a local church.

Members are those who:

• Help shape the direction of the church

It reflects being part of a spiritual family, not just attending occasionally.

No – you are very welcome to attend without becoming a member.

However, membership is encouraged for those who feel this is their church home and want to make that commitment.

Membership provides:

• A sense of belonging
• Opportunities to grow in faith
• A place to use your gifts and abilities
• A chance to be involved in decisions about the church

Church membership is about commitment to God and to one another. This typically includes:

• Attending services and activities
• Personal prayer and Bible reading
• Sharing in Communion
• Serving where you can
• Supporting the church financially, as you are able
• Living out Christian values
